AREAS AFFECTED: Lincoln, GA; McCormick, SC

DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central Georgia, including the following county, Lincoln and central South Carolina, including the following county, McCormick. * WHEN...Until 645 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 336 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... McCormick, Lincolnton, Elijah Clark State Park, Leroy's Ferry Recreation Area, Bordeaux, Hickory Knob State Resort Park, Willington, Long Cane Creek Picnic Area, Curry Hill, Baker Creek State Park, Mount Carmel Park, Mount Carmel, Hester's Ferry Campground, Gill's Point and Chennault. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

INSTRUCTION: Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Cumulus clouds are fluffy and textured with rounded tops, and may have flat bottoms. The border of a cumulus cloud is clearly defined, and can have the appearance of cotton or cauliflower.

Cumulus clouds form at low altitudes (rarely above 2 km) but can grow very tall, becoming cumulus congestus and possibly the even taller cumulonimbus clouds. When cumulus clouds become taller, they have a greater chance of producing precipitation.
