Trinity River at Liberty affecting Liberty County. ...The Flood Warning is cancelled for the following rivers in Texas... Trinity River at Riverside affecting San Jacinto, Trinity, Polk and Walker Counties. For the Trinity River...including Crockett, Riverside, Romayor, Goodrich, Moss Bluff, Liberty...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Trinity River at Liberty. * WHEN...Until late Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins as roads into several outlying communities above Liberty are closed with residents in 5 or 6 subdivisions cut off if not evacuated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 27.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:15 AM CDT Tuesday was 27.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening and continue falling to 22.8 feet Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 26.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.1 feet on 12/16/1998. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
Rain generally has a tendency to fall with less intensity over a greater period
of time, and when rainfall is more severe it is usually less sustained.
Rain is the most common form of precipitation and happens with greater frequency
depending on the season and regional influences. Cities have been shown to have
an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
