DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in New York... Tonawanda Creek At Rapids affecting Niagara and Erie Counties. For the Tonawanda Creek...including Attica, Batavia, Rapids... Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Tonawanda Creek at Rapids. * WHEN...From Thursday morning to early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Moderate flood, some residential flooding with widespread road closures in North Clarence, east into Newstead and Royalton. Water begins to back up into smaller creeks such as Ransom, Black, Beeman, Gott, and Mud Creeks. Flooding in some low lying areas along Tonawanda Creek Road, Rapids Road, and Wolcott Road, with widespread farmland flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:00 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 9.29 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 14.5 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Friday evening. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.4 feet on 02/15/2009. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Similar to cirrocumulus clouds, altocumulus clouds are
characterized by cloud patches. They are distinguished by larger cloudlets
than cirrocumulus clouds but are still smaller than stratocumulus clouds.
Altocumulus clouds most commonly form in middle altitudes (between 2 and 5 km)
and may resemble, at times, the shape of a flying saucer.
These uncommon formations, called altocumulus lenticularis, are created by uplift
in the atmosphere and are most often seen in close proximity to mountains.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
