AREAS AFFECTED: Coleman, TX; Concho, TX; McCulloch, TX; Mason, TX; Menard, TX; San Saba, TX; Schleicher, TX
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Coleman, Concho, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, San Saba and Schleicher. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 500 PM CDT, Due to heavy rainfall between 4 and 15 inches since last night across the warned area, flooding is ongoing and will continue through late tonight. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Brady, San Saba, Mason, Menard, Richland Springs, Paint Rock, Algerita, Cherokee, Eden, Melvin, Calf Creek, Brady Lake, Hext, Camp San Saba, Camp Air, Pear Valley, Katemcy, Salt Gap, Lohn and Long Mountain. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Cirrostratus clouds are high, thin clouds that form above
20,000 feet and are made mostly of ice crystals. They sometimes look like giant
feathers, horse tails, or curls of hair in the sky.
These clouds are pushed by the jet stream and can move at high speeds reaching
100 mph.
What do they indicate?
They indicate that a precipitation is likely within 24 hours.

Condensation is the process which creates clouds, and therefore
it is a crucial process in the water cycle.
Condensation is the change of matter from a state of gas into a state of liquid,
and it happens because water molecules release heat into the atmosphere and
become organized into a more closely packed structure, what we might see as
water droplets.
Water is always present in the air around us as a vapor, but it's too small for
us to see. When water undergoes the process of condensation it becomes organized
into visible water droplets. You've probably seen condensation happen before on the
surface of a cold drink!
