Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued August 3 at 8:20PM CDT until August 3 at 8:45PM CDT by NWS Norman OK
AREAS AFFECTED: Harper, OK; Woods, OK; Woodward, OK
DESCRIPTION: At 820 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 5 miles north of Coldwater to 5 miles south of Sitka to 7 miles southwest of Englewood, moving southeast at 45 mph. THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR Buffalo, Rosston, and Laverne. HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles. Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely. Locations impacted include... Laverne, Buffalo, May, Rosston, and Selman.
INSTRUCTION: This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause serious injury and significant property damage.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
