DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches. North winds gusting as high as 40 mph. This will cause some blowing and drifting snow. * WHERE...Portions of central, north central, the panhandle, and west central Nebraska. * WHEN...Until midnight CST /11 PM MST/ tonight. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact this morning and evening commutes.
INSTRUCTION: If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Call Nebraska 5 1 1 for the latest road information.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
