DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas... Sabine River Near Mineola affecting Wood and Smith Counties. For the Sabine River...including Mineola...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sabine River near Mineola. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Expect a couple of flooded barns. Also expect water to overflow the bridge approaches to Farm to Market Highway 1804 between Hoard and Lindale. Expect several hundred acres of flooded pasturelands next to the river both upstream and downstream. Move livestock and equipment to higher ground. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 14.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM CDT Thursday was 16.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.2 feet Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.

Rain is the most common form of precipitation and happens with greater frequency
depending on the season and regional influences. Cities have been shown to have
an observable effect on rainfall, due to an effect called the urban heat island.
Compared to upwind, monthly rainfall between twenty and forty miles downwind of
cities is 30% greater.
