Winter Weather Advisory issued March 15 at 6:37AM CDT until March 15 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
AREAS AFFECTED: Sheboygan; Dodge
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, mixed precipitation. Additional ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow and some mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph leading to blowing to drifting snow. Near blizzard conditions are possible later Sunday night into early Monday morning. * WHERE...Sheboygan and Dodge Counties. * WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 4 PM CDT this afternoon. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 4 PM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
INSTRUCTION: Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a hat will keep you from losing your body heat. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.
