DESCRIPTION: ...COLD AND WET STORM BRINGS HEAVY MOUNTAIN SNOW TO THE CASCADES... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to 7 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph along exposed ridges. * WHERE...Upper Slopes of the Eastern Washington Cascades Crest. * WHEN...From 5 AM Wednesday to 11 AM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Periods of moderate and heavy snow will combine with low visibilities to create difficult driving conditions.
INSTRUCTION: Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by visiting the website wsdot.wa.gov/travel. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
