Eastern Brazoria County in southeastern Texas... * Until 745 PM CST. * At 711 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Hitchcock, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This dangerous storm will be near... Galveston Island West End, Hitchcock, Jamaica Beach, Tiki Island, and Galveston State Park around 715 PM CST. Galveston Causeway, Schlitterbahn, Moody Gardens, Offatts Bayou, Scholes Field, and Galveston Island East End around 720 PM CST.

A contrail is an artificial cloud, created by the passing of an
aircraft.
Contrails form because water vapor in the exhaust of aircraft engines is suspended
in the air under certain temperatures and humidity conditions. These contrails
are called exhaust contrails.
Another type of contrail can form due to a temporary reduction in air pressure
moving over the plane's surface, causing condensation.
These are called aerodynamic contrails.
When you can see your breath on a cold day, it is also because of condensation.
The reason contrails last longer than the condensation from your breath is
because the water in contrails freezes into ice particles.
