DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Minnesota... Minnesota River at Morton affecting Redwood and Renville Counties. Minnesota River at Montevideo affecting Yellow Medicine, Chippewa and Lac qui Parle Counties. .No significant forecast changes over the last few forecasts with Morton cresting tonight and Montevideo cresting over the weekend. Additional precipitation remains absent until late Sunday into Monday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Minnesota River at Morton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Riverside Rd and Front Street flooded in North Redwood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1100 PM CDT Friday, the stage was 22.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1100 PM CDT Friday was 22.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 22.4 feet just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 22.2 feet on 05/02/2006.
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
