DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...High temperatures 97 to 102 degrees in the valleys. * WHERE...Northern Lander and Northern Eureka, Northern Elko, South Central Elko, Southeastern Elko, Southwest Elko, Humboldt, Northeastern Nye, and Northwestern Nye Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 AM PDT Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and may cause heat illnesses.

INSTRUCTION: Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, reduce time in the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Cirrocumulus Clouds Next Topic: Cirrostratus Clouds

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km) and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as "cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.

Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud formations generally pass rapidly.
